Beginning in 2018, there will be 4 rookie slot using picks 34-37

New eligibility rules

Beginning in 2022:

Players who were last affiliated with an AL organization without being affiliated with a foreign major league and are unsigned at the 
cutoff date are eligible for the email portion of the spring draft.  If they are given a NL player number they are ineligible for the 
web portion.  If they are given a AL player number, they are eligible for the web portion.

Players who were last affiliated with a foreign major league are ineligible for the NAIL spring draft but may become eligible for the 
web portion if they are given an AL player number before the web portion starts.  If they sign later into the AL, they are eligible for 
the first supplemental draft after sign.

Players who were last affiliated with an NL organization but are currently unsigned are ineligible for NAIL but may become eligible 
for the web portion if they sign before the start of the web portion draft.  If they sign later into the AL, they are eligible for 
the first supplemental draft after sign. 



Draft dates for 2024
The protection list date as  2/23/2024 at 9 AM (PT).  The protected
lists will go out that evening.  The draft will start a week later on 3/2/2024 and conclude on 3/23/2024

- Protected lists will be due to Brian or posted on this list by 2/23 at 9 AM (Brian and Peter will post early)
- The draft will be be done entirely by the web draft tool.
